Safehouse Lancaster’s mission is to educate and equip young black and brown people for activism work and be a resource for training and accountability for local ally owned businesses and organizations. SafeHouse Lancaster has merged with YWCA Lancaster in July of 2021.
Kearasten is our Co-Executive Director! They were born and raised in Lancaster City and currently resides downtown. Kearasten has been involved in advocacy work since high school and is excited to continue learning how to better serve the community. When Kearasten isn’t doing work for SafeHouse, she runs her sewing business, Fo’ Sew, and is an artist and a stand-up comic.
Isaac is our Co-Executive Director! Raised in Lancaster County, Isaac has been doing racial bias focused work for the last 3 years and is excited to bring that experience to SafeHouse. Isaac has a passion for helping other young people succeed and building strong communities. When not at SafeHouse, Isaac also works as a consultant and enjoys spending time with his family and friends. Two of his favorite activities are writing and hiking.
Tess manages our social media and assists in creating resources and trainings for ally-owned businesses! They grew up in Lancaster and currently live downtown with their partner Ethan and hairless cat Gremlin. When Tess isn’t working with SafeHouse, they lead worship for a PC(USA) church in Strasburg. They are also the owner of Line & Letter Designs, through which they create handlettered wedding & home decor.
